so today marks the end of 2010.
i was talking to my mother the other day and she said: wah so fast new year liao. one year happen so many things leh.
i went like: where got fast we study, take exam, and then holiday. then new year liao.
it's just meant to be a joke (not very funny actually). yep 2010 was a fast paced year, and of course fast paced means alot of things happened. looking back, i realised i should have treasured more of the times we had together.
to summarise the highlights of this year:
jan/feb/march: netball seasons and it was the busiest days of my life! 4 days of training per week plus cip and the hosting of new zealanders! and the start of CID 4!
june: when our batch is officially not netballers. emotional peroid.
august: aylc! a whole week of no school! fun fun fun! ^^ and then new cca selection.
october: mugging season.
november: hong kong trip! plus camp ((:
(all from archives heehee)
i really love 2010 because of all the people and events!
okayokay next next next! 2011! new year resolutions!
1. i promise to be an optimistic person. i'm going to have an awesome thing posted in every blog post (inspiration from neil pasricha, read reader's digest!).
2. make a new best friend whose name is: library
3. really study hard and play hard. i'm aiming for good grades, especially for maths.
4. have a run or exercise every month on my own free will.
5. lose less of my stationary.
6. be nicer and more thoughtful to my friends.
7. be meaner and firmer to people who dont deserve my help.
8. be more confident.
9. find a job this year. (for expenses of 10.)
10. go overseas on a gpp trip with the school and some awesome buddies!
wishing everyone a happy new year! (:
awesome thing today: receiving an sms from a good friend wishing happy new year even though it's not yet new year! ☺

4 years of secondary school life. yet i feel unaccomplished. what have i done?
my academics isn't good. i didnt do much cip. what have my character developed as? what leadership have i shown? the lcd model is useless. they want everyone to be a leader, have done loads of cip and have a good portfolio. so what.
i feel young. i feel ridiculous. it's junior college next year. but there isn't a feeling that says, oh i've grown and really worked hard and achieved something to gain a place in the college. there isn't a feeling of change.
i'm going to the same campus. same bus and train routes. same uniform. same people i see (mostly). same school. same rules. same food.
at least, students in other schools, even those that offer the ip programme, move off to another campus. meet different peopleand expand their social circle. have a change in school uniform. more lax rules. have a entirely clean start in another place. the past are history. this's excitement! and that's why these people experience more, see more, and have a wider perspective of this world.
i'm trying to point out what you cant gain in my school. given another chance, i would have chosen another option and i would have seen it all, experienced it all, gone through it all.
dont choose my path.

JWSMRT christmas outing! ^^ | plus an unexpected visitor
yesterday was a great day and jwsmrt went regina's house and then to orchard to see the fascinating decorations that has yet to be stripped off the orchard belt.
so at r's house we played pictionary, making a mess on the floor haha and then had a game of monopoly! that game is endless, gosh, and wx and sh had made a windfall out of their properties! while tt and sh were super attracted to r's toilet heheheh! :D
then bused to orchard and had dinner at the asian food mall at lucky plaza; it's reasonably prized for somewhere situated in orchard. yep so walk see walk see walk see haha. the decos arent as bad as what the critics in the newspaper said, maybe as compared to past years they were a bit, not as amazing?
________________________________________________________________
okayokay i know this isnt related but this is so funny i want to blog about it. it's about this little dog (in the picture), under the chair, yes you cant see its face it's camera shy.
so today this dog slipped through our house's metal gate (i dont know whats that called) and came trotting into our house. the THIRD time! and the poor owner comes running after the dog. it's really an amusing sight seeing it exploring our living room. the last time it came it went under the dining table and was looking at us shyly (it didnt dare to let us touch it) but this time it practically threw itself into our laps hahahaha! so we were like holding it and touching it and whatever it's so darn cute while the owner was trying desperately to get it to get out of the house!
so anyway then we tried pushing it to the door and the owner tempted it with tidbits and the dog tried to get out through the metal gate and its head got stuck HAHA. i wonder how in the world did it get into our house then!
what a silly little dog. (:

The Snowman by Jo Nesbo
i finished this book a couple of days ago too and it is a superb book. it's those kind of detective books with a serial killer out on loose and one brave soul investigating on the horrendous murders that happened.
so there is this guy called harry hole who's the protagonist (i hope i get this term right) and well he's investigating in these few murders after the people died and he got a letter that prompts him to find "the snowman" who's supposed to be the serial killer.
so these people who were killed were all women and who have children already. plus they were all killed when the first snow falls. along the way there were more people killed and the way they died were... horrible.
there was one who was dismembered and there was another who had the head cut off and put on top of a snowman with the mouth sewn up to resemble a grin. it was kind of spine chilling to think about it.
actually what's so special about this book is how the author organised the series of events. it's in a way that leaves you in suspense before moving on to a totally different topic and sometimes the chronological order is different. the starting always make you flip back the pages and reread.
and that it includes loads of information that's well, educational! it mentioned Palov's (i think i spelled wrongly) theory on stimulated responses and quatam physics where everything is chaos. a great deal of logic i must say.
i think this kind of thought provoking books are great reads as compared to some books that are entirely, stupid. i dont mean those romance type (those are great for leisure reading), i mean those books that dont have exactly a plot/story/purpose in it.
i do hope to have enough time, well at least some time to read a good book next year. i do love reading.
merry christmas!

少年四大名捕
i havent blogged for quite a while! okay i finished 少年四大名捕 a couple days ago and i think that it's a super great drama because there's four very handsome actors haha ^^ but i hate the ending -.-
陈键锋 as 追命. he's damn funny lol.
吴卓羲 as 冷血. too bad he never confess anything to the girl in the end. what a pity.
this drama very nice so many heart throbs sia heehee. but the ladies are also prettyy!
徐子珊. she looks nice in the show.
李诗韵. she and 马国明 looks so sweet together in the drama ahahaha.
and merry christmas everyone! :D

general paper is definitely not my cup of tea. it's just too general. too broad and too much to discuss. ms tan always says that she doesnt have the answer. what i think it's that she thinks that there is no right nor wrong answer; and therefore there's no answer.
so i was trying to decide on a subtopic to work on for the lang arts holiday homework, and i googled some of the subtopics. i typed: myriad forms of the arts. and one link popped up, reading: Learning Martial Arts. i wonder if it is really a form of the arts.
this homework is so mind-boggling. i've yet to decide which subtopic to work on. poo.

green for the coming christmas
after a few days of work and sleeping in the living room, i've finished painting my room green!
i think it's a beautiful colour, but when the paint is dried it turns kind of darker. but still, when the natural light shines in, it looks wonderful.
it's interesting, you know, to paint. it gives satisfaction as the original pink walls turn into a pretty shade of green.
anyway, i still got half a bucket of paint and i think i'll proceed to paint my mother's room haha! though i must admit it's hard work to move the furniture out of the room, cover the place with newspaper and blah and then packing up after everything.
half a month left to school reopening! O: within this short little peroid there's loads to do, like homework, practising guitar, house painting, getting some new furniture, getting a start/revise/prepare for next year's work and celebrate christmas.
sighhhh.

auld lang syne - bye to vp and 4A too
today was the earliest i woke up in this month. went school for mdm so's farewell ceremony and i didnt know there was so little people who turned up for it.
to me mdm so's kind of low key, and she looks like somebody who's kind and nice and somebody who doesnt teach physics! hahaha she's funny yeah and cute.
anyway then we went to grab lunch at macs and then to wanxi's house! and discovered the reason behind her high intelligience! she plays the IQ game and i think it's super amazing! i should get one to kill time.
and yep we watched the cut version of lust, caution and it's eh, nice plot but kinda slow and draggy? i dont know how to describe but it's not like the kind that have much of a suspense.
and then we had green tea and some awesome famous amos cookies; that's so sweet of wanxi!
played monopoly and to play and alter the rules throws in a sense of fun!
though we didnt do much and just sat around like sloths, but i still like it. it's been a great day. ♥

the end's a start
class allocations are out and this is BIG news, man.
i'm not really very happy that im in 5B, i mean, i would be so much happier in 5A, i suppose? but then again, there's always new classmates, new friends, new beginnings! and i got regina and vivian! (:
it's at least better than when in 2008 whereby i was the only one who went into 3A from my class and that i knew nobody except shirley.
thinking back, i'm really grateful to meiwen shieuhuei and tiantian, and then regina and wanxi! you all made my life so much more fun, thank you!
well, i hope we will work hard and have fun at the same time, with great teachers and lecturers!

does interest lead to passion?
i was thinking yesterday, how much ccas actually mean. maybe i was just bored or simply i got nothing to do, but this is gonna to be a long post.
i was in chinese dance in primary two. and i dont really remember what happened then, except for the cake that the teacher in charge bought for us. that was uber nice of her.
then i switched to rhythmic gymnastics. it was cool, really. i get to do handstands, cartwheels, bridges, spilts, jumps, spins and well, dance. i couldnt master the somersault though. if there was a talent i have, it's flexibility. though im not the most flexible, of course.
i remember the little stuffy room that we practised in the old campus of the primary school. we had to drag those spongy mats across the room. before those practises, those who arrived early will be playing wacko. we were smart, we always pointed in the other direction to confuse the poor person in the middle of the circle. it was really funny.
then we moved to the new campus. there was an opening ceremony, and we had to perform for it. we had to collaborate with the english drama, and the little boy that we had to work with was pretty naughty. he was missing in action on the full dress rehearsal day.
but we do get to practise in the hall. it was spaciousss. in there we did loads. we start with basic stretches, then maybe jumps and kicks and then the dance. the dance is always long. we will start, restart, end, start again and repeat the whole thing. and then for breaks i would have a mars chocolate bar because i loved it.
i used to hate cca. it was mundane. boring. we were always practising the same dance. doing the same things.
but looking back, it was a great experience. how proud to feel to have participated in the syf competition. how afraid we were just before our dance item. how excited to see the high ceiling theatre in kallang when we went for full dressed rehearsals.
and then i wanted to try something new. i went to netball in secondary. and then we were trained by the year four seniors. they were torturous. at least to me. i wasnt used to all these physical activity. i hated running. i didnt like trainings. and that's why when it rains we were all happy. but we still have physical training. within months, i was running so much faster than my first 2.4km timing. i was tanner. i was resistant to the sun. i was used to sweating and panting. overall i was so much fitter. but i still dreaded training. after every training i would have died and revived. i would have dragged myself back to the old canteen, have a drink and some snack, change, climb the hill to the main gate and take a bus that was packed like sardines back home.
but again the trainings were to train us for competitions, matches and friendlys. i remember the nervousness before each match. the happiness we felt with every score. the determination to get back every single ball we can lay our hands on. the accomplishment we felt with every win. the soreness we felt with every loss. the team effort we put in. the teamwork that we had. the support we get from each other. the feeling of "we are all in this together" .
but still. we disbanded and went different ways.
now that we are almost in jc already. i wonder, what will i learn from guitar ensemble? playing a guitar is a very personal thing. it takes a personal effort to master a music piece. will i ever be as close as to all the players as when i was in dance or in netball? will i have the determination and passion to put in effort? honestly i dont have the littlest bit of music talent in my genes. but i do hope to get satisfaction in being in this cca. it isnt going to be a long duration in this cca, one and a half years, at the most. we have a levels in year 6. ccas are going to be stopped then. and i hope by then, i would have learnt alot.

rapunzel the movie
i think i owe this a post.
so on tuesday, went out with the 2E gang to cathay to catch rapunzel. tang wasn't there awww she went out with her 4E friends. unexpectedly met them at cathay too and LOL caught the same movie.
poor yuhong was teased relentlessly haha.
anyway the movie's a great watch yep yep it was funny and pretty stupid at some scenes like why is the horse acting like a dog?! and of course the plot's kind of altered but it still have the original elements. the changes are refreshing though. and makes the whole thing more joke haha.
glad that i went out if not im cooped at house. boredom is kicking in and im finding things to do D: i totally cannot stand gp why must they torture us like that i have absolutely no idea how to start on the homework. pfffffffffft.

♥ hongkong dramas!
holidays holidays. it feels so great to wake up any time of the day and just laze around.
though i still havent found a job :p , there seems loads to do! have been catching hong kong dramas haha i finished D.I.E Again and it was pretty exciting although till now i still have no idea how the male lead managed to 复活! it was also pretty humourous too!
and now i catching bits of 珠光宝气though at first i didnt know what was happening cause my dad and my sis watched it till episode 20 + already -.- still, it's kind of cool. so many scheming plots.
and i really want to watch the 巾帼枭雄之义海豪情which i caught a bit in hong kong, and the drama seems really good! it's set in japanese occupation and i think it means alot. too bad i dont have the disk and i dont know how to download, so only can catch it on the computer. D: it would seem so much nicer on the tv!
okay hong kong dramas are addictive, gosh. and some are real good!
anyway other than that packing the house and spring cleaning it feels damn shoik. there are so many rubbish in my house lah. all throw throw throw but of course throw too much will 心痛.
and i shall get a job. maybe i will work next year too. on sundays maybe? :D

racial harmony camp
i'm back from camp! a, uhm slightly different camp yep. and im superrr tired now x.x
anyway it's kind of weird since the we are the oldest in the whole camp and there are like well, many sec 1 s and sec 2s. the things that they find entertaining are totally different luhh and we are very amused by them haha lol.
it's such a fortunate thing that oonhim and ongmin are in the same group as me haha if not i think i would have died in the 4 days!
okay so first day was the sian-est day ever there was nothing much to do and time was dragging so slowly and we could have rot in the camp cause it wasnt the best atmosphere lol. and our facil wasnt doing much to get the high atmosphere haha but it's just his different approach in facilitating in camp luhh. best time of the day was social time where we met up with kl mh and jovi and talked loads haha.
okies second day was slightly better though we walked like siao and sweated like i-dont-know-what but time flew and it was the fastest day ever lol! but it's also the day that the toilet ran out of tissue and the showering cubicles flooded and whats not.
third day it rained no more ropes course and rock wall which is a pity cause it's so challenging and fun but anyway we modified our aylc dance and had it for our camp(fire) performance. it was kind of stupid during the performance and i wonder why did we ever wanted to put in the hip hop move in the first place when nobody did it except ongmin and me -.-
but it was the highest night though mh was such a wet blanket zzz. he's such a joke.
last day which is the finale and the food's awesome though we stayed under the sun for god knows how long but i dont mind getting a tan! and we were super entertained by patrick and squidward HAHA. yep so byebye and we are gone!
and then the guys pangseh us and went home aiyayah.
this camp is kind of weird but it isnt exactly terrible neither is it very fun. as in not alot of fun activities but we laughed at loads of things and so many things that are so joke! and I LEARNT THAT I NEED TO HAVE SELF AWARENESS omgosh lah okay i shall not mention it lol .
byebye good night! (good night reminds us of smthing funny, doesnt it ongmin and oonhim!) :D
